Refractive Abnormalities

Myopia

Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a common refractive error in preschool, school and adolescent children. It can be combined with myopia or hyperopia. These children see blurry at all distances, but not too blurry. The problem is treated with glasses, contact lenses and in adulthood with refractive surgery.

Farsightedness

Hyperopia is the most common refractive error in preschool children. These children see near targets more blurry. Some of them, in their attempt to overcome the blur caused by their farsightedness, squint. The problem is treated with glasses, contact lenses and in adulthood with refractive surgery.

Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the ocular surface. It has many forms, depending on the cause that causes it (microorganisms, allergy, toxicity, etc.). It manifests itself with a red eye, secretions (mucus, chrysalis, tears), swelling of the eyelids, itching, burning sensation or foreign body, etc. The treatment of conjunctivitis is proportional to its cause.
